German Uniform Found in St. Lo, Normandy

This German uniform was found in a basement in St. Lo, France after WWII ended. St. Lo was one of the important objectives assigned to be captured after D-Day. It would finally fall in July of 1944 after bitter fighting by the US 29th Infantry Division. The German helmet was found in La Neubourg, France.
D-Day Parachute Dress St. Mere Eglise

This yellow silk parachute dress was made by a French girl in the town of St. Mere Eglise, Normandy after D-Day had concluded. During the German occupation of France, the Nazis stole much of the basic materials needed for every day living from the French people. When D-Day began, there was plenty of silk to use to make new clothing, flags, and other items. This one was made into a girl's dress. St Mere Eglise was an important objective for the 101st Airborne Division on June 6th, 1944 and many paratroopers would drop in its vicinity. Formerly on display on a museum in St Marie Du Mont which has been closed.
US M41 Jacket Operation Torch

This US M41 jacket was worn by an engineer in the 1st Infantry Division during the Invasion of North Africa on November 9th, 1942. A large engineer castle is drawn on the back of the jacket and a small American flag is sewn on to the left shoulder. American flags had to be worn during this Invasion, because it was unknown whether the Vichy French stationed in North Africa would fight or not. The flags provided an offer of surrender in conjunction with the leaflets dropped during the invasion. It is heavily combat worn and contains the stains of battle.

This 5th Army Ike Jacket belonged to a Medic in the US 5th Army during the invasion of Italy. This Medic was awarded the Bronze Star for his service in Europe.
US M43 Jacket 106th Infantry Division Battle of the Bulge

This jacket was worn by a member of the 106th Infantry Division during World War II. During the first day of the Battle of the Bulge, this division was nearly overrun by the first elements of the German advance on December 16th, 1944. Many fought until they were forced to surrender. The jacket has many field repairs along the back and front.

This US M41 jacket belonged to a member of the US Armed Forces in World War II. It is heavily bloodstained on the arms, neck, and back. There is also blood staining along the inside of the jacket. The tag has been washed away and the owner has been unfortunately lost to history.
German Coastal Artillery Uniform

This German Coastal Artillery Uniform would have worn by members of the German Navy stationed along the Normandy Coast in 1944. They were in charge of coastal defenses such as the large caliber guns and defensive positions. This one has a Paris laundry tag still attached.
