Reconaissance Photograph of Omaha Beach

This Reconnaissance photograph of Omaha Beach was used by Michael Gionfriddo of the US 1st Infantry Division to brief his men before the D-Day landings. He took this photograph in with him during D-Day morning to help orient his landing beach. The photograph was taken in May of 1944, roughly a month before D-Day.

This photograph of Everett Anderson was taken somewhere in England in 1942. Everett was with the 66th Bomb Squadron and was killed on August 1st, 1943 during the Ploesti Raid.
