This Purple Heart was awarded to Edgar Street of the 29th Marine Regiment, 6th Marine Division for wounds received on May 14th, 1945 in the opening stages in the Battle of Sugar Loaf Hill on Okinawa. This part of the Campaign would extract the highest number of casualties during the entire battle and nearly decimate the 29th Marine Regiment. Sugar Loaf was captured and needed to be recaptured eighteen times before it finally fell.

This Purple Heart was awarded to Encarnacion Delao, a rifle grenadier with the US 7th Infantry Division for wounds received on May 14th on Attu Island, Aleutians. The Battle of Attu would be the only battle on American soil during WWII and cost 658 American lives and 1,000 wounded.
Kenneth Beligoy's Purple Heart from Iwo Jima

This Purple Heart was awarded to Kenneth Beligoy for wounds received on Iwo Jima on March 21st, 1945 by a Japanese grenade. It exploded near him as he exited an amphibious vehicle. The wounds were serious enough to evacuate him from the battlefield and some of the shrapnel he received would stay in him the rest of his life. The back is inscribed with his name.
