82nd Airborne Helmet found near St. Mere Eglise, Normandy.

This 82nd Airborne helmet was found just west of St. Mere Eglise in Normandy, France after WWII ended. A bullet hole in the top of the helmet shows the owner was likely killed during D-Day or just after. The 82nd Airborne Division in conjunction with the 101st Airborne Division was tasked with captured key road ways, towns, and other objectives in advance of the beach landings at Utah Beach later on D-Day morning.
1st Armor Division Painted Helmet Liner

This M1 Helmet liner was worn by Aladdin Jiminez of the US Army's First Armored Division during WWII. He fought at the Battle of Kasserine Pass, the rest of North Africa, and eventually reaching Italy. The metal helmet came with the liner and is in storage. (Refer to HLMT 0.15)

This German Afrika Korps Pith Helmet was worn by a German soldier in the North African Campaign in 1943. The helmet is dated 1942 and saw limited use. The goggles on top prevent sand from getting in the eyes of the one wearing the helmet. The German Afrika Korps were finally defeated in May of 1943.
Frank Ray's Tanker Helmet

This Tanker's Helmet belonged to Frank Ray of George S. Patton's Third Army during WWII. Tanker's would use these for limited protection while inside of a tank. Being a tanker was one of the most dangerous jobs in the US military and had a high mortality rate. Frank would serve in France, Belgium, and eventually Germany.
